October Studio

26/10/21

Now Autumn is here I am relishing being back in the studio and have been working on several bodies of paintings for various upcoming projects and exhibitions. I’ve been switching from big canvas pieces to small postcard works on paper and have also been experimenting with painting on raw linen, which has a wonderful earthy and organic feel. The new work I am making feels like an extension of myself and is drawn from my current emotions and feelings, but also has a direct link to the changing seasons, which can be seen through the warm pallets, soft marks and subtle textures.

A couple of weeks ago I also released a new series of paintings on paper called ‘Equanimity’ that were drawn from my experiences of the Summer and the joyful feeling of being back out in the world, connecting with others. The collection is tender and dreamlike and was made by layering oil, cold wax, pigments and pastels together and then scratching back through to reveal previous layers, which gives the work a depth and a sense of mystery. The paintings are available through the shop section of my website and are all priced between £130- £200 with world wide shipping available.
